ST ERME AND TRISPEN CORNWALL

This site represents a central information point for the community and parish of St Erme,
Cornwall. The Parish of St Erme is named after St Hermes who was beheaded in Rome in 132 A.D. He is remembered on the 28th day of August. The parish council first met in 1894, before this St Erme Parochial Church Council looked after the parish affairs.

St Erme Parish is 4 miles north of Truro and comprises of 4256 acres of land. Its neighboring parishes are Newlyn East, Ladock, Probus, St Clement, and St Allen.

The main village is Trispen, and Churchtown is the area surrounding St Erme Church. Between1977-1986 St Erme saw major development with over 300 houses being built known as Trevispian Parc, with no extra amenities being provided.

In 1996 the Trispen bypass was started. In St Erme there is a Church, Chapel, Primary School, Post Office and Stores, Public House and Village Hall. St Erme's last census in 2001, recorded a population of 1215.
